Help fund BAYCS's Climate Health Kits
Help the youth-led organization Bay Area Youth Climate Summit fund a project with UCSF to distribute "Climate Care Kits" and education to communities impacted by environmental injustice.
$0 raised of $5,000 goal

The Bay Area Youth Climate Summit is an entirely youth-driven, non-profit organization. Our annual climate summit attracts more than 200 youth, educators, and leaders, and is free for everyone.
Our current fundraising goal is to raise $5000 to fund a project with UCSF to distribute "Climate Care Kits" and education to communities impacted by environmental justice
San Francisco’s history makes climate health disparities especially urgent. Decades of redlining and industrial zoning placed many low-income communities of color near freeways and high-pollution areas. Today, those same neighborhoods experience higher asthma rates, hotter temperatures during heatwaves due to uneven tree-canopy coverage, and limited access to fresh food. Climate change magnifies these long-standing health inequities, making community preparedness and education critical.
The Climate Care Kit Project aims to equip communities affected by climate-induced health impacts through community workshops and the distribution of physical “care-kits.” These kits include the following: **
- Laminated Informational pamphlets with local resources for heat waves and air pollution safety
- N-95 Masks
- Shelf-Stock Food
- First Aid Medical Kit
**Please Note that kits are customizable, and specific items can be included upon request
With the funds, BAYCS and UCSF will assemble and donate Climate Care Kits to disproportionately climate-impacted communities. But that’s not all. Part of these “kits” include the education aspect, each kit distribution will be accompanied with a community workshop, where participants will learn about local climate health impacts, the history of climate justice, discuss climate solutions, and be given the opportunity to write letters to their elected officials to advocate for climate policies. Ultimately, our goal is to build resilient, connected climate communities that inspire action on climate health and justice.
